RCCA’s after-school programs exclusively benefit Camden City children and youth, and include projects conducted in partner organization after school programs Professional teaching artists conduct programs with children and youth in Camden after-school programs for a period of six to eight weeks. These curricular-based programs typically involve activities that incorporate one or more art forms and actively engage the young participants in the process of creative decision-making. For example, theater-based projects might explore a literary work through performance, or it might focus on playwriting and/or production. Participating youth increase skills in reading, vocabulary, and writing, physical expression and communication, critical and analytical thinking, organization and presentation, leadership and teamwork, and so on.
